My husband and I were moving from WA to NC. The brakes started grinding on my car the day we got to Kansas City. We took it over in the morning and explained our situation, and Kevin was able to assess it right then. He gave the estimate, and said he would have it done by 2-3pm. I received a call around 12:40 saying my car was finished so we could get going and that he found a loose belt and tightened it up- free of charge.

“KC Brake Inc. really took care of me when my rear brakes started grinding. Bought a used Ford Taurus, and the seller told me the brakes were new. When KC Brake looked for the grind, they told me that it did indeed have new brakes, and that the brake hardware was the only thing needing to be replaced. That's honesty, man. They could have charged me for a full brake job, but they didn't. In and out in the same day. You can be sure I called them when my Honda Odyssey broke down and will be taking it to them ASAP.”

I dropped my car off, told them what was wrong, and they gave me an estimate for that kind of work. Final cost ended up being almost exactly what they qouted me.
They also made sure not to do any additional work on my car without notifying me in advance. Ive been to several garages that try and do extra work on my car that i didnt ask for, and then upcharge me for it.

“The owner, is very friendly and trustworthy. I went here to get my brakes replaced initially because I had been told by another shop that both my front and rear brakes needed to be replaced. He told me it wasn't so - drove another YEAR and then only had to replace the front brakes! He has also done an oil change and replaced a headlight. Go here if you want quality service from a reliable company. They won't take advantage of you no matter the situation and I couldn't recommend KC Brake more!”

I called them with a tricky electrical issue which I thought would be an alternator replacement; turns out it wasn't an alternator charging problem but two wiring harnesses melting into each other. For just a small amount of money and time, I was out the door with the repair. They got to my truck after I dropped it around 10:30, I went back to work, and gave me updates and recommendations all day. Happy as heck to find these great guys in the Corssroads, too...drop it and let them fix it for you. Top shelf team!”

Well the shop's website states they open at 8am, however in good fashion they were open well before that and took my car in right away, keeping me on time for my interview. “I have found KC Brake to be the most reasonable, straightforward and honest shop that I have ever had to deal with. Just one for instance, there was a time when I bought a 3 year alignment special from one of the chain tire shops. They regularly would tell me I needed this or that item. Once I started going to KC Brake I would never have the work done by the tire shop , but I would ask KC Brake staff to evaluate the need noted and not once did they agree that I needed the items that i had been advised to replace. I have advised others to do the same when they receive service recommendations from the tire shops with similar results.

They get all my business now and I know my car is in excellent hands.”

Reviews were good and as the reviews suggest, mechanics at KC Brakes are genuine and honest. I took it for general servicing and alignment. But they suggested that an alignment was not requires(saving me money on it, with their honest reviews) and it didn't cost me more than $50 for complete servicing. I am never going anywhere else when I have KC Brakes. Thank you guys, seriously!!!”

These fellas are so honest, if there is nothing wrong, they will flat out tell you they don't need to repair the vehicle. If you want some integrity in your mechanic, bring your car here. “Okay, I took my Lincoln in for service today. It has 116,000 miles on it and the car was wobbling on the highway. I also felt it needed new brakes. They have never been replaced and we are headed out on a trip. They called back at 9:00 to let me know my brakes had plenty of life left on them and they did not need to be replaced anytime soon.

They also said the wobble was probably tires that needed to be balanced and nothing more. I picked up the car a few hours later. The bill was $29! Seriously, only $29.

I left my house this morning expecting a bill for about $750. It is so nice to find an honest repair shop that is interested in fair business and not looking to take advantage of customers.

“One of only a handful of places I trust to work on my vehicles. Close enough to my house that they'll drop me back at home if necessary, and their work is always excellent. “Five stars, and really this is as good as it gets. We had our oil changed at one of these chain stores. Guess they did not do the usual blah blah point inspection because 1 wk later the temperature gauge was running high and our coolant was at zero.

I saw the reviews of KC Brake and it was not far from work so I called them and dropped it off. Once they got around to it they changed the antifreeze and looked for any leaks. The good news (knock on wood) is that there did not seem to be a leak. The even better news is that they did not change anything. I know said chain store would have charged for a diagnostic check and for replacing the antifreeze.

“The most important criteria for me when choosing an auto repair shop are first honesty, and secondly competence. These guys score excellent on both factors. Yesterday I went to KC Brake & Auto with a check engine light on my 2004 Chevy Suburban. Despite being busy they squeezed me in on a Friday with short notice. This vehicle has never had the check engine light on before, so it was prudent to bring it in for diagnostics. KC Brake & Auto diagnosed the problem, cleared the check engine light, and gave it a test drive, all for NO CHARGE since they determined it was a spurious fault. This is the fourth time I have been to this shop. One time, my pickup was parked in their lot overnight and the windshield got cracked due to a stray rock, or vandalism. We don't know. The owner offered to replace my windshield for free! I paid him anyway since there was already a minor crack in the windshield and I was planning to replace it anyway. I also had a fuel pump replaced (if I recall correctly) on my Suburban because the vehicle wasn't starting smoothly, and the price was reasonable. I work downtown and KC Brake & Auto is close enough for me to walk to work. There is no 'ambiance' at this repair shop, it's a garage, but I think they may pass on the lower rent cost to their customers in the form of reasonable prices. I really like this repair shop.”

They checked out a possible battery/alternator problem I was having, and didn't charge me anything since they didn't find anything. They are the best and I will never go anywhere else.”

“I first came to KC Brake about 3 years ago when I needed a front end alignment and discovered that the repair shop I had been using before had gone out of business. It had been recommended by a friend who swore by it, he in turn had found the place on recommendation of another friend.

This is now the only place I take my car, whether for the mundane like inspections or oil changes or for more major issues. (Yes, they do more than just brakes.) I'm always impressed by the speed, quality, and price.

Most of my repairs have been done the same day, even when I haven't had an appointment. As for price, well, here's a good example -- this past winter I hit a chunk of ice with my car that tore off my front bumper. I dropped my car off in the morning. When I returned that afternoon I found a repair job done so well that I can barely tell anything was ever wrong, and a bill that was less than fifty dollars! (And that even included an oil change!)

These guys do the work because they love doing it. They aren't out to make a fast buck. You'll be charged for the parts and what's fair for the time, and nothing more. This is a great place to get your car serviced.
